Options Sports Academy, OSA, have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the 2020/2021 Cup of Cameroon by beating Ecole De Football Brasseries du Cameroun, EFBC, in Limbe on Wednesday, June 16.
It was a tense encounter full of fireworks with OSA Warriors squandering a series of chances in the first segment of the game.
They will, later on, be down in the second segment when Hypolitte Orelen Ekanga opened the scoring for EFBC.
Everything seems to have ended until Options was awarded a free-kick at the 93rd minute of the game. This was beautifully curled in by Clinton Kwe Chu levelled the scores to take the game to the penalties shootout.
Here, OSA Warriors experienced keeper Festus Ebere will have to put his qualities and experience to work. He stopped Ekanga’s and later on forced EFBC’s Emmanuel Junior Ewouki Ndoumbe to hit his on the woodwork.
Meanwhile, Fils Assang saw his penalty stopped by EFBC’s keeper Billy Mongo. The game ended with OSA Warriors booking their place in the quarter-finals of the 2021 edition of the Cup of Cameroon after a 5-4 victory in penalty shootouts.
They will know their next opponents for the Quarter-finals in the days ahead.
